If you could get away with a crime such as robbing a bank, rape, grand theft auto or murder; would you commit it?
The answer would be yes for some people. In Ezekiel 8:8-12 Jesus showed Ezekiel 70 elders of Israel committing acts of abominations. What acts of abominations? Worshiping unclean idols in a hidden room thinking that the Lord didn’t see them.
RSV Ezekiel 8:8-12
8 Then said he to me, “Son of man, dig in the wall”; and when I dug in the wall, lo, there was a door.
9 And he said to me, “Go in, and see the vile abominations that they are committing here.”
10 So I went in and saw; and there, portrayed upon the wall round about, were all kinds of creeping things, and loathsome beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel.
11 And before them stood seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, with Ja-azaniah the son of Shaphan standing among them. Each had his censer in his hand, and the smoke of the cloud of incense went up.
12 Then he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, every man in his room of pictures? For they say, ‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.'”
2Chronicles16:9 & Proverbs 15:3 document that Jesus see everyone’s actions no matter where you are located on earth. You can’t break a law (sin is lawlessness -1Jn3:4) thinking that no one is watching you. The Earthly law enforcement may not catch you but you will have to give account of your actions in front of Jesus on judgment day.
RSV 2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show his might in behalf of those whose heart is blameless toward him….
RSV Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
There’s no free lunch from Jesus. You can’t sin and not be punished. All sins that haven’t been cleansed will be reveled on judgment day. On judgment day according to Rev20:12 states “the dead were judged by what was written in the books, by what they had done” and everything that was hidden shall be revealed as Luke 8:17 states.
RSV Luke 8:17 For nothing is hid that shall not be made manifest, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come to light.
RSV Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, by what they had done.
Be aware of your actions. Not only in what your hands do but where your feet take you and what comes out of your mouth and what you see thru your eyes and what you hear thru your ears.
O be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little eyes what you see
There’s a Father up above
And He’s looking down in love
So, be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little ears what you hear
O be careful little ears what you hear
There’s a Father up above
And He’s looking down in love
So, be careful little ears what you hear
O be careful little hands what you do
O be careful little hands what you do
There’s a Father up above
And He’s looking down in love
So, be careful little hands what you do
O be careful little feet where you go
O be careful little feet where you go
There’s a Father up above
And He’s looking down in love
So, be careful little feet where you go
O be careful little mouth what you say
O be careful little mouth what you say
There’s a Father up above
And He’s looking down in love
So, be careful little mouth what you say
