TV shows such as “Doomsday Preppers” on the National Geographic channel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_Preppers) have these preppers display their preparations for various disasters.
Bad idea. King Hezekiah showed Babylonian envoys all his wealth, preparations & security provisions. The prophet Isaiah told King Hezekiah that all that he showed the Babylonians would be taken away.
People will remember in a disaster that you have “stuff” that they need and you will be highly sought after by the unprepared masses.
Several persons featured on the show have been arrested by the police because the police are also watching the show. In times of disasters, you don’t want anyone except those whom you have preselected to come into your shelter.

No Biblical Behavior. Jesus Christ has preselected persons for destruction (Jude1:4, Rm9:22) so there people you don’t want in your shelter – the people of Jude1:12-13 – worthless persons heading for destruction.
